- 2009-01-24 - New TTD Features - vBulletin software upgrade
Most of you probably noticed that we have upgraded the software on our site. This upgrade came with many new 'social' features which some of you may or may not like. I've tried to list many of them in our New TTD Features thread. I've included instructions on how to turn off some of the new profile features. I've also included instructions on how to enjoy some of the new features such as the Social Groups. I've seen a couple of music/band related groups start up. If you have any questions about these features, please post in the Site Announcements & Suggestions forum and I'll try to answer your questions.
- 2008-09-15 - High Definition Video Uploads Now Allowed
- 2008-08-12 - Critical Vulnerability Discovered in uTorrent
- 2008-05-21 - XTorrent and Earlier Versions of Transmission Banned
Occasionally I notice certain bittorrent clients pounding our tracker. When I google them, I see that this is common for that version. They are often old bittorrent clients. Today I noticed an older version of Transmission (actually XTorrent, which is based on an earlier version of Transmission) pounding away so now XTorrent and versions earlier than 0.72Z of Transmission are banned. I am sorry to have to do this, but clients that pound like that really cause a load on the server.
TTD recommends you keep up-to-date on your clients. Commonly used, and recommended, clients include uTorrent and Azureus.
- 2008-01-18 - Attention uTorrent and Bittorrent users!
Both the official BitTorrent and uTorrent clients are vulnerable to a remote denial-of-service attack, due to the way they handle user-supplied data. Versions found to be vulnerable so far are the official BitTorrent 6.0 client, uTorrent 1.7.x, uTorrent 1.6.x and uTorrent 1.8-alpha-7834. Read more here.
- 2007-12-17 - You must be logged in to view the torrent threads
You may have noticed, but you now must be logged in to view the torrent forums. If you are using RSS feeds for those forums, you must use a viewer that allows you to put in a username/password for the forums or else you won't continue to get the feeds for those forums.
- 2007-10-24 - BitTorrent (Mainline) version 5.0 Banned
It seems that BitTorrent version 5.0.7 does not want to play well with the tracker. This has been going on for a while, but as we get more peers on the tracker, it has become more of an issue. It is mainly v5.0.7 that is causing problems, but other 5.0 versions have pounded the tracker as well. So, starting Monday October 29, BitTorrent v5.0 will be banned from our tracker. It is suggested you change your client now, not wait until your can't download and then get upset about it. See out notice here.
- 2007-04-14 - Pruning Accounts Inactive for over Six Months
I've had quite a few people ask lately why their account has been deleted - as we stated before in the Note "Pruning Inactive Users" - We delete accounts that have been Inactive (you haven't logged in) for more than twelve months with less than 100 posts AND also accounts that have been Inactive for more than six months with no posts. If you think your account was deleted because of inactivity, but now you want to join the site again, feel free to register again. If you don't want your account deleted within six months, then login at least every six months. We don't see a reason to keep a bunch of 'dead' accounts around.

Mission Statement |
Welcome to The Traders' Den. We, the administrators, will be familiar faces to some, and new to others. Each of us have been involved in various trading communities for many years, and many have worked together on other trading sites. We have come together to create an online trading site with an entirely new ideology. This site will be geared towards a certain kind of collector: those who feel quality and integrity are important. Our policies will seem demanding to many users, but we have witnessed the decline in overall quality in many other trading circles due to lax restrictions. We offer a safe haven for traders frustrated with the dilution of quality in the trading pool, as well as our combined experience and devotion to helping new users enter an elite trading community.
Please read the seeding rules, FAQs, and linked tutorials for more information as to how we are employing our ideals to better serve traders of all music tastes. If there are any questions, comments, or ways we can help make the experience more rewarding, please don't hesitate to post in our forums or message one of us.
Quality is not an option in the seeds here, it will be the standard.
